What Our Students Are Grateful For |
If you’re reading this, you’re a survivor of the worst global health event in memory. The pandemic has had an adverse impact on student mental health. We are seeing increased levels in stress, anxiety, and depression due to the uncertain circumstances and changes to their daily lives.
It is important for us as educators to address this issue. WHAT CAN WE DO?Well-being underpins success at every level. A simple, free and proven way to improve wellbeing is to adopt a gratitude practice.
1. Gratitude increases resilience: When you are grateful for the good things that have happened in your life, you also become more immune to negative reactions when the bad comes around. Gratitude gives your perspective and helps you realize that no matter how bad things are, “this too shall pass”. 2. Gratitude improves mental health: Multiple studies in the field of positive psychology have shown that gratitude journaling helps people to get rid of negative emotions. Greed. Envy. Regret. And Frustration are often expelled when people take the time to express their gratitude. It is a prosocial behaviour that balances out defensive behaviours. 3. Gratitude enhances your relationships: Acknowledging your gratitude makes you more aware of what others do for you. This often leads to improved expression of gratitude to others. When you express gratitude people like you more because you make them feel good about themselves, regardless of whether you are grateful for someone holding opening the door or giving you a life-changing opportunity. It's like winning the lottery three times in a row! |

HOW TO CREATE
A GRATITUDE GROUP
A GRATITUDE GROUP
Did you know that one of the easiest ways to build a gratitude practice is by creating an accountability group to help you. It's a fun and social way to share your gratitude and build up your muscles.
Set yours up today and invite your family, friends and co-workers to join! WHO WE AREWe are a group of student entrepreneurs who are working with First Pivot. We partnered with a local startup to create Australia's first-ever edible Gratitude Cups. We learned about the positive benefits that a gratitude practice can have and our weekly nudge is a byproduct of this project. It is like a gift that keeps on giving.
We are thankful for your ongoing support! |
